Why it matters

That requires more than inspiring content or isolated programs. It requires a shared picture of what a disciple is, a clear direction for growth, and simple practices that can be lived and passed on to others.

The Seven Marks of a Disciple give a shared, biblical picture of the kind of life Jesus seeks to form in every follower.
They are drawn from the words and expectations of Jesus, not from tradition, denomination, or personal opinion.
The Seven Marks help provide:
A prototype: a picture of a mature disciple
Goals: a clear direction for spiritual growth
Indicators: practical ways to recognise where growth is occurring and where further formation is needed
Discipleship is not merely completing a course. It is becoming more like Jesus and helping another person do the same.
